Biography

Pierre-André Athané studied piano at the Conservatoire d'Angers, and with a passion for improvisation and composition, completed his training in Paris in writing, harmony, orchestration and jazz arrangement, as well as singing and theater. A composer of musicals and music for images (cinema, documentary, animation, video games), he is also the author of over three hundred music library works used in audiovisual productions worldwide. Pierre-André Athané has also written compositions for chamber music and orchestra. They are regularly performed in concert. A songwriter and performer, he has been seen on stage many times as a singer or accompanist on piano or guitar, notably in the company of singer Marie Baraton and guitarist Michel Haumont. Committed to the transmission of music, he is a regular contributor to training courses for composers and movies production managers. He is also - Honorary Chairman and former Chairman of Snac (Syndicat National des Auteurs et des Compositeurs) - Founding member and former Vice-President of UCMF (Union des Compositeurs de Musiques de Films) - French observer delegate to the ECSA federation (European Alliance of Authors and Composers).
